CAREERS
There are many careers in recreational
scuba diving that are available for certified dive supervisors/masters and above, especially here in the Caribbean where
there is a thriving dive-tourism business. Persons holding recreational certifications are not hired to work in the commercial
industry because they are not trained to undertake such jobs. Commercial divers are trained for the occupational environment
by going through months of theory classes and logging hours of surface-supplied diving using the proper equipment.
Jobs are available both locally and internationally for the commercial diver and the recreational diver in his or her specific
field.
To
date all of the commercial diving graduates from UWIL have acquired jobs in the commercial diving industry. We have also made
contact with the various local commercial dive companies to advise them of our certifications and graduate availability.
For
more information on jobs availability, please contact us.
WARNING NOTE: I DO NOT AGREE WITH DIVE COMPANIES AND COMPANIES
THAT HIRE NON COMMERCIAL DIVERS TO WORK AS COMMERCIAL DIVERS, PRETENDING TO HAVE COMMERCIAL DIVER CERTIFICATIONS.
I PLEAD WITH
COMPANIES ---- DO NOT HIRE DIVERS WHO DO NOT HAVE A COMMERCIAL DIVER CERTIFICATION CARD.
PERSONS WITH RECREATIONAL CARDS
ARE NOT TRAINED TO WORK IN THE FIELD ----- PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THEM.
THERE ARE DIVING COMPANIES WHO ARE NOT USING
CERTIFIED SUPERVISORS TO SEND DIVERS DOWN AND ARE BENDING DIVERS.
